Case study · Joinery · Huddersfield

Elite Interior: from Instagram only to a website that brings in quotes.

Rory was relying on Instagram and MyBuilder for work. I designed, wrote and built him a website of his own, so customers could see his work, read his reviews and ask for a quote in one place. Two weeks after launch, a new customer asked for a quote through it.

“Really easy to deal with, kept me updated and changed anything I wanted along the way.”

The starting point

Good work, but nowhere to send people.

Before, the only place to see Rory’s work was Instagram. Recommendations and MyBuilder brought people to him, but there was nowhere to send them if they wanted to see his joinery properly or ask for a quote.

What the site needed to do

  1. Show the work properly

Wardrobes, media walls and staircases are bought on how they look. His best jobs needed to be easy to find and big enough to judge, not buried in a feed.

  2. Lead with the work he wants more of

Bespoke wardrobes and storage first, with everything else he does still listed, so the right enquiries come in.

  3. Make asking for a quote easy

One clear place to get in touch, with the questions he needs answered before he replies.

What I built

Five questions the site answers

Each section answers something a customer wants to know before they get in touch. These are screenshots of the live site.

  1. Customers ask “Do you do what I need?”

Services, each explained in a line

Joinery covers everything from hanging a door to building a staircase. The services section lets a customer tell in seconds whether Rory does their kind of job.

    What I built

    • Bespoke wardrobes and storage first, as the work he wants most
    • Media walls, first and second fix, doors and finish joinery, flooring and general joinery after it
    • A plain one-line description for each, with no jargon
The services section of Elite Interior’s website: bespoke wardrobes and storage, media walls, first and second fix, doors and finish joinery, flooring and general joinery
Six services, each explained in a line
  2. Customers ask “How good is your work?”

    A gallery of real projects

Joinery sells on the finish, and the detail is hard to judge on a small feed. The gallery puts Rory’s own project photos in one place.

    What I built

    • Real photos from his jobs, not stock images
    • Fitted storage, oak doors, flooring, stud walls and a staircase balustrade
    • Each photo opens larger, so the detail shows

Real project photos. Each one opens larger
  3. Customers ask “Can I trust you in my home?”

His Google reviews, on the site

Bespoke work is a big spend, with someone in the house for days. What past customers say does more than anything Rory could say about himself.

    What I built

    • His 5.0 Google rating shown on the site
    • Reviews about fitted wardrobes, internal woodwork and bespoke units
    • A link through to the full reviews on Google
Elite Interior’s Google reviews section: a 5.0 rating and three five-star reviews about fitted wardrobes, internal woodwork and bespoke units

  4. Customers ask “Do you cover my area?”

    Areas made clear

People search for the job and the town. The site says plainly where Rory is based and where he works, for customers and for Google.

    What I built

    • Based in Huddersfield, working across West Yorkshire
    • A map, so people can see at a glance whether they’re covered
    • Town names written into the page, not hidden in an image
Elite Interior’s areas section: based in Huddersfield and working across West Yorkshire, with a map of Huddersfield, Halifax and Manchester
Core areas and travel, made clear
  5. Customers ask “How do I get a quote?”

A quote form that asks the right questions

Someone planning a wardrobe usually just wants to know whether Rory can help. The fewer steps between them and him, the fewer enquiries slip away.

    What I built

    • A short form asking for location and type of project
    • So Rory knows what the job is before he replies
    • WhatsApp one tap away for anyone who would rather message
Elite Interior’s contact section: a quote form asking for name, phone or email, location, type of project and details, with a link to WhatsApp

Who builds it

Built by someone who knows the trades

I’ve worked in general building for over eight years. I know what it’s like to be on site all day, then quote jobs, answer customers and keep the business going around the actual work, with most of it coming from recommendations.

Rory dealt with me from the first call to launch day, and that’s how every site works. No sales team and no handover. I write the words, pick the photos and build it, and you see your site before you pay.

How it works

How Rory’s site was made, and how yours would be

You don’t need to become a web designer or a copywriter. A short call and some photos of your work, and I handle the writing, design and technical side.

  1. We talk it through

A short call about what you do, the jobs you want more of, the areas you cover and the work you’re proudest of.

  2. I build your website

I write the copy around those jobs, pick your best photos and build the site in your branding. You don’t have to write a word.

  3. You approve it. I launch it.

You check it and ask for any changes. Once you’ve approved it, you pay and it goes live.

If you don’t approve it, you don’t pay.
