Websites for flooring fitters that get the measure booked.

Most people have no idea whether they want laminate, vinyl or real wood, only that the showroom confused them. I’ll build you a site that compares the floors honestly, shows your fitting and makes booking a free measure the easy next step. You only pay when you’re happy with it.

Why a website?

People want to understand the floors before they let anyone in to measure.

A lot of flooring work still comes through the big retailers and word of mouth, and that’s no bad thing. But homeowners who want an independent fitter will look you up and compare a few first, and most of them are confused about what to choose.

Three reasons it’s worth having one

  1. Compare the floors for them

Carpet, vinyl, laminate and wood, with honest prices and what each is good for. The fitter who explains it plainly is the one they trust to fit it.

  2. Show the prep, not just the finish

Levelling, screwing down boards and trimming doors are why your floors stay flat and quiet. A site gives you room to say so, so you’re not just compared on price per metre.

  3. Win whole houses, not single rooms

Open-plan ground floors, hall-stairs-and-landing and whole-house jobs up front, so you’re booked for the big ones.

What I’d build for you

Everything a homeowner checks before booking a flooring fitter

Built around the jobs you want more of, with your finished rooms front and centre. The screenshots are from Aire Valley Flooring, an example design I’ve built for a flooring fitter.

  1. They ask “Which floor should I get?”

    Floor types compared, honestly

People search for the floor, like LVT, herringbone or stair carpet. They want to see straight away whether you fit it, what it’s like to live with and how long it lasts.

    What you get

    • Carpet, luxury vinyl, laminate and engineered wood explained plainly: what each feels like, what it’s good for and what to watch out for
    • A see-it-in-a-room picker at the top of the page that swaps the photo as they tap a floor
    • On Trade and Pro, a separate page for each floor type, like LVT or stair carpets
    • Fitting-only and subfloor prep still listed, without crowding out the supply-and-fit work

Jobs your site could lead with

    • Carpets and stairs
    • Luxury vinyl tiles
    • Laminate
    • Engineered wood and herringbone
    • Subfloor preparation
    • Fitting only

  2. They ask “What suits my room?”

A floor finder that turns browsers into bookings

Most people don’t know what to put in a kitchen or on stairs. A few quick questions about the room and what matters, answered with two suggestions and a reason, gets them from “not sure” to “come and measure”.

    What you get

    • Room, what matters most and what’s underneath, answered in three taps
    • Two suggested floors with a photo and a plain reason, no pressure and no prices to argue with
    • One button that sends the suggestion straight into your booking form
    • A note about the subfloor, so the measure holds no surprises

A floor finder that suggests two floors and says why, from the Aire Valley Flooring example design
  3. They ask “Have you done a room like mine?”

A gallery people can filter by room, and the people behind it

Someone wanting stair carpet wants to see stairs, not twenty living rooms. Letting people filter your work by room gets them to the jobs like theirs quickly, and a short section about who you are turns a measure into a booking.

    What you get

    • A gallery filtered by living rooms, halls and stairs, bedrooms and kitchens, with photos that open up larger
    • A meet-the-fitters section: who you are, since when, and how you work
    • A fitting-day checklist people can tick off, so the day goes smoothly
    • Genuine Google reviews, shown near your work

  4. They ask “Do you cover my area?”

Found by homeowners searching in your area

People search for the job and the town, like “carpet fitter Bingley” or “LVT flooring Bradford”. Your site has to say clearly what you do and where before Google can match you to those searches.

    What you get

    • The towns you cover, listed on the pages that matter
    • Page titles, headings and descriptions that name your flooring work and your area
    • Your business details set up so search engines can read them, linked to your Google Business Profile if you have one
    • On Pro, pages for the main towns you cover. Good foundations, but nobody can honestly promise a ranking

  5. They ask “Can you come and measure?”

Free measures booked with the details you need

Flooring is priced on the room, the floor and what’s down now. A form that asks which room, what they’re thinking of and what’s there, plus a WhatsApp button for a photo, gets you a booking you can turn up to prepared.

    What you get

    • Tap-to-call and WhatsApp buttons, plus a bar that stays at the bottom of the screen on phones
    • A short enquiry form that comes straight to you, with spam protection built in
    • Fields that ask which room, the floor they’re thinking of and what’s down now, so you can reply properly
    • Built and tested on phones first, and quick to load on a weak signal

Example design

A flooring fitter website I’ve designed

An example design that shows how a flooring fitter’s site would work, alongside feedback from a real client.

Who builds it

Built by someone who knows the trades

I’ve worked in general building for over eight years. I know what it’s like to be on site all day, then quote jobs, answer customers and keep the business going around the actual work, with most of it coming from recommendations.

I’m not a flooring fitter, so the details come from you. My job is to put your best rooms, prices and reviews up front and make booking a measure the easy next step. You deal with me throughout, not a sales team.

How it works

Three steps, live in as little as a week

You don’t need to become a web designer or a copywriter. A short call and some photos of your work, and I handle the writing, design and technical side.

  1. We talk it through

A short call about what you fit, the jobs you want more of (whole ground floors and stairs rather than single bedrooms, say), your prices and the areas you cover.

  2. I build your website

I write the copy around those jobs, pick your best photos, close-ups included, and build the site around them. You don’t have to write a word.

  3. You approve it. I launch it.

You check it and ask for any changes. Once you’ve approved it, you pay and it goes live.

If you don’t approve it, you don’t pay.

A Trade website is £495, paid once you’re happy with it. One or two jobs could cover it.

FAQ

Questions flooring fitters ask

Keep it coming. A recommendation gets your name passed on, and your site is what backs it up when someone checks you out before letting you measure their house. It’s also the one place with no other fitters suggested next to you. Why word of mouth and a website work together.

No. I build your site first, you look it over and ask for any changes. You only pay once you’re happy with it. If it’s still not right for you, you walk away owing nothing.

No. Phone photos are fine, as long as the light is good and the room is tidy. Take a wide shot from the doorway and a close-up of a threshold, a mitre or a stair nosing on every job. Send me what you’ve got and I’ll prepare them for the site. How to take better photos of your work.

Yes. A floor finder asks which room, what matters most and roughly how big, then suggests two floors with a photo and a reason. The answer goes straight into your booking form, so the measure is half done before you arrive.

Yes. I’ll build the site around your logo and colours. If you don’t have a logo, the site can use your business name in a clean, simple style.

I build it with local SEO foundations in place. The page title, headings and copy name the floors you fit and the towns you cover, so search engines can match you to searches like “carpet fitter Bingley” or “LVT flooring Bradford”. That way Google knows what you do and where, and the page is quick to load on a phone. It gives you solid foundations, but no web designer can guarantee a particular position in Google. What else helps you show up locally.

Yes, if you want to. “From” prices put off people with the wrong budget and reassure the right ones. The example design leaves them off and lets the honest comparison and the finished rooms do the talking, but it’s your call, and either way the fixed price per room comes after you’ve measured.

Yes. Keep the shop work, and use your site for the people who want an independent fitter or have already bought their floor. It shows them your standard, and gives you somewhere to send customers who want to book you direct.

No. We have a short call about your business and the work you want more of, you send me some photos, and I write and build the rest.

A one-page site is usually ready in about a week, a Trade site in about two weeks and a Pro site in two to three weeks. I’ll give you a date on our first call.

Yes. Send me photos of a new job, or the change you want, and I’ll update it for you. Content updates are £30 an hour, and most new-job updates are quick. New sections or design changes are quoted separately.

Yes, it’s yours once you’ve paid for it, with no lock-in. Hosting and support are included for the first 12 months. After that it’s £19 a month, rolling, so you can cancel anytime. If you do, I’ll send you the files and transfer your domain so you can host it wherever you like.
