Websites for handymen that turn odd jobs into booked days.

People with a list of small jobs want someone tidy, reliable and easy to book. I’ll build you a site that shows the jobs you do, makes your rates clear and lets people send their list with photos. You only pay when you’re happy with it.

Why a website?

People want to know you do their job, what it’ll cost and that you’ll turn up.

Most handyman work comes from neighbours and local Facebook groups, and that’s no bad thing. But before anyone lets a stranger in to fix their door, they look you up and check you’re reliable.

Three reasons it’s worth having one

  1. Show the jobs you actually do

“Handyman” can mean anything. A clear list of jobs, with photos, tells people straight away you’ll do their shelves, doors and flat-pack, so they ring you instead of guessing.

  2. Make your rates easy to understand

Hourly, half-day and full-day rates up front mean fewer “how much to come out?” calls, and more people saving their jobs up for a proper booking.

  3. Win the landlord and agent work

Regular rental work keeps the diary steady. A section for landlords and letting agents shows you can work through an inventory and invoice properly.

What I’d build for you

Everything someone checks before letting you in to fix things

Built around the jobs you want more of, with your rates and reviews up front. The screenshots are from Tidyfix Handyman, an example design I’ve built for a handyman.

  1. They ask “Do you do my kind of job?”

A jobs page that answers it at a glance

People don’t search for “handyman services”. They search for the job: putting up shelves, a sticking door, flat-pack. Your site needs to show those jobs plainly.

    What you get

    • Your regular jobs listed with photos and a plain line about each
    • “From” prices where you’re happy to give them, so people know roughly what to expect
    • A clear note on what you don’t do, like gas or rewiring, so you don’t get calls that go nowhere
    • On Trade and Pro, a page for your main jobs, like flat-pack assembly or TV mounting

Jobs your site could lead with

    • Flat-pack assembly
    • Shelves and TV mounting
    • Doors and locks
    • Taps and small leaks
    • Sealant and grouting
    • Outside jobs

  2. They ask “How long will my jobs take?”

A jobs list people can build themselves

Most handyman work is a list of small jobs. Letting people tick what needs doing, and see roughly how long it’ll take, gets them saving it up for a half or full day with you.

    What you get

    • A tick-list of your common jobs that adds up a rough time
    • The list goes straight into the enquiry form, so you get everything in one message
    • Your hourly, half-day and full-day rates explained plainly
    • Written around your own jobs and rates, not a template

  3. They ask “Will you turn up and leave it tidy?”

Reviews that answer the reliability question

For small jobs, people worry less about skill and more about whether you’ll turn up, be tidy and charge what you said. Reviews that say so do more than anything you could write.

    What you get

    • Genuine Google reviews, shown near the top
    • Your insurance and any trade memberships, where you hold them
    • How you work: fixed prices, dust sheets and a tidy-up after
    • Only real reviews and credentials, nothing made up
The reviews section of the Tidyfix Handyman example design: three reviews about a long-waiting jobs list, rental work and flat-pack
Reviews about turning up and tidying up, from the Tidyfix Handyman example design
  4. They ask “Do you cover my area?”

    Found by people searching nearby

People search for the job and the town, like “handyman Shipley” or “flat pack assembly Bradford”. Your site has to say clearly what you do and where before Google can match you to those searches.

    What you get

    • The towns you cover, listed on the pages that matter
    • Page titles, headings and descriptions that name your handyman jobs and your area
    • Your business details set up so search engines can read them, linked to your Google Business Profile if you have one
    • On Pro, pages for the main towns you cover. Good foundations, but nobody can honestly promise a ranking
The areas section of the Tidyfix Handyman example design: Shipley, Saltaire, Baildon, Bingley, Bradford, Keighley, Ilkley and Guiseley

  5. They ask “Can I just send you my list?”

Easy enquiries, with photos of the jobs

Handyman jobs are much easier to price with a photo. A short form and a WhatsApp button get you the list, the postcode and the photos in one go.

    What you get

    • Tap-to-call and WhatsApp buttons, plus a bar that stays at the bottom of the screen on phones
    • A short enquiry form that comes straight to you, with spam protection built in
    • Fields that ask what needs doing, when suits them and whether it’s a rental property, so you can reply properly
    • Built and tested on phones first, and quick to load on a weak signal

Who builds it

Built by someone who knows the trades

I’ve worked in general building for over eight years. I know what it’s like to be on site all day, then quote jobs, answer customers and keep the business going around the actual work, with most of it coming from recommendations.

I’ve done plenty of these jobs myself on site, but the details come from you. My job is to put your jobs, rates and reviews up front and make sending you a list the easy next step. You deal with me throughout, not a sales team.

How it works

Three steps, live in as little as a week

You don’t need to become a web designer or a copywriter. A short call and some photos of your work, and I handle the writing, design and technical side.

  1. We talk it through

A short call about the jobs you do, the ones you want more of (half-day lists rather than one-off call-outs, say), your rates and the areas you cover.

  2. I build your website

I write the copy around those jobs, pick your best photos and build the site around them. You don’t have to write a word.

  3. You approve it. I launch it.

You check it and ask for any changes. Once you’ve approved it, you pay and it goes live.

If you don’t approve it, you don’t pay.

What’s one extra job worth to you?

Move the sliders to your own numbers. This works out turnover, what customers pay you, not profit.

A Trade website is £495, paid once you’re happy with it. One or two jobs could cover it.

An illustration using your figures. It isn’t profit, and it isn’t a promise of extra work.

FAQ

Questions handymen ask

Keep it coming. A recommendation gets your name passed on, and your site is what backs it up when someone checks you out before letting you into their home. It’s also the one place with no other handymen suggested next to you. Why word of mouth and a website work together.

No. I build your site first, you look it over and ask for any changes. You only pay once you’re happy with it. If it’s still not right for you, you walk away owing nothing.

No professional ones. Phone photos are fine, as long as the light is good and the room is tidy. A rehung door, a resealed bath or a wall of shelves all make good pictures. Send me what you’ve got and I’ll prepare them for the site. How to take better photos of your work.

Usually, yes. Hourly, half-day and full-day rates, and “from” prices for common jobs, put people at ease and cut down the calls asking how much it is to come out. If you’d rather price every job, we can leave them off.

Yes. I’ll build the site around your logo and colours. If you don’t have a logo, the site can use your business name in a clean, simple style.

I build it with local SEO foundations in place. The page title, headings and copy name the handyman jobs you do and the towns you cover, so search engines can match you to searches like “handyman Shipley” or “TV wall mounting Bradford”. That way Google knows what you do and where, and the page is quick to load on a phone. It gives you solid foundations, but no web designer can guarantee a particular position in Google. What else helps you show up locally.

Yes. A section for rental work, and a form that asks whether it’s a rental, means agents can send their lists and you can see straight away which enquiries are which.

Lead with the bookings you want, like half and full days, and set a clear minimum charge. The site can still list the small jobs, framed as part of a bigger list.

No. We have a short call about your business and the work you want more of, you send me some photos, and I write and build the rest.

A one-page site is usually ready in about a week, a Trade site in about two weeks and a Pro site in two to three weeks. I’ll give you a date on our first call.

Yes. Send me photos of a new job, or the change you want, and I’ll update it for you. Content updates are £30 an hour, and most new-job updates are quick. New sections or design changes are quoted separately.

Yes, it’s yours once you’ve paid for it, with no lock-in. Hosting and support are included for the first 12 months. After that it’s £19 a month, rolling, so you can cancel anytime. If you do, I’ll send you the files and transfer your domain so you can host it wherever you like.
