Websites for driveway contractors that show the work before the price.

A new driveway is a big spend, and people look at a lot of drives online before they ring anyone. I’ll build you a site that shows your best work, explains what’s under it and makes asking for a quote easy. You only pay when you’re happy with it.

Why a website?

People want to see your drives before they let you dig up theirs.

Driveways and patios sell on photos. Homeowners scroll through a dozen before they pick three firms to quote, and the one with the clearest site and the best pictures usually gets the first call.

Three reasons it’s worth having one

  1. Let the finished drives do the selling

A block-paved drive with a crisp soldier course looks good in any photo. Your site puts twenty of them in front of people who are deciding who to ring.

  2. Explain what’s under it

Dig-out depth, sub-base and drainage are why your drives don’t sink and someone else’s do. A site gives you room to explain it, so you’re not just compared on price per square metre.

  3. Win the bigger jobs

Full drives, patios and resin up front, so you’re booked for whole projects, not just a repair to a few loose blocks.

What I’d build for you

Everything a homeowner checks before booking a driveway contractor

Built around the jobs you want more of, with your finished work front and centre. The screenshots are from Hartshead Driveways, an example design I’ve built for a driveway contractor.

  1. They ask “Do you do what I’m after?”

Service pages that bring in whole drives

People search for the surface, like block paving, resin or a patio. They want to see straight away whether you do it, what it involves and what it’s best for.

    What you get

    • Block paving, resin, tarmac, patios, drainage and dropped kerbs explained plainly, with what each is best for
    • A photo that changes as they hover or tap each service, so they see the surface, not just the name
    • On Trade and Pro, a separate page for each surface, like resin bound driveways or porcelain patios
    • Smaller jobs, like repairs and re-sanding, still listed

Jobs your site could lead with

    • Block paving driveways
    • Resin bound driveways
    • Tarmac driveways
    • Patios and paths
    • Drainage and dropped kerbs
    • Walls, steps and edging
The services section of the Hartshead Driveways example design: a large photo beside a numbered list of block paving, resin bound, tarmac, patios, drainage and dropped kerbs, and walls and steps, each with what it’s best for
Each service with what it’s best for, and a photo that swaps as you tap, from the Hartshead Driveways example design
  2. They ask “What difference will it actually make?”

A before-and-after they can drag, and a gallery they can filter

Nothing sells a new drive like the old one next to it. A slider people drag between before and after is the first thing they play with and the thing they remember, and a gallery filtered by job gets them to the drives like theirs.

    What you get

    • A before-and-after slider from your own photos, with the job described in a line: what was there, what you did, how long it took
    • A gallery filtered by driveways, patios and jobs in progress, with photos that open up larger
    • Each job labelled with the surface, the town and the size
    • Your phone photos cropped, colour-corrected and compressed so they look sharp and load fast
The before-and-after section of the Hartshead Driveways example design: a photo of an old weedy drive on the left and a new block-paved drive on the right, split by a draggable handle, beside the days on site and the guarantee
A before-and-after people can drag, from the Hartshead Driveways example design
  3. They ask “Why are you dearer than the other quote?”

Explain what’s under it, and who’s doing it

Dig-out depth, sub-base and membrane are why your drives don’t sink and someone else’s do. A cross-section people can tap through shows each layer, how deep and why, so you’re not just compared on the price per square metre.

    What you get

    • A tap-through cross-section of your build-up, with each layer’s depth and a plain reason for it
    • Your honest line on overlays versus dig-outs, so the cheaper quote has to answer it
    • An about section: who you are, since when, and the four things you always do
    • Genuine Google reviews, shown near your work
The how-we-build section of the Hartshead Driveways example design: a cross-section drawing of blocks, sand, sub-base, membrane and subsoil beside five tappable layers with depths
What’s under the drive, layer by layer, from the Hartshead Driveways example design
  4. They ask “Do you cover my area?”

Found by homeowners searching in your area

People search for the job and the town, like “block paving Mirfield” or “resin driveway Huddersfield”. Your site has to say clearly what you do and where before Google can match you to those searches.

    What you get

    • The towns you cover, listed on the pages that matter
    • Page titles, headings and descriptions that name your paving work and your area
    • Your business details set up so search engines can read them, linked to your Google Business Profile if you have one
    • On Pro, pages for the main towns you cover. Good foundations, but nobody can honestly promise a ranking
The areas section of the Hartshead Driveways example design: a ring map with Mirfield at the centre and Dewsbury, Brighouse, Huddersfield, Cleckheaton, Batley, Ossett, Wakefield and Halifax around it
The towns covered, shown on a map, from the Hartshead Driveways example design
  5. They ask “Can you give me a price?”

Quote requests with the details you need

A form that asks the surface, the rough size and what’s there now, plus a WhatsApp button for a photo of the drive, gets you an enquiry you can price before you’ve been out.

    What you get

    • Tap-to-call and WhatsApp buttons, plus a bar that stays at the bottom of the screen on phones
    • A short enquiry form that comes straight to you, with spam protection built in
    • Fields that ask what they want, the rough size and what’s there now, so you can reply properly
    • Built and tested on phones first, and quick to load on a weak signal

Example design

A driveway contractor website I’ve designed

An example design that shows how a driveway and paving contractor’s site would work, alongside feedback from a real client.

Hartshead Driveways

A design I built to show what a driveway contractor’s site should do. It has a before-and-after you can drag, a tap-through cross-section of what goes under the drive, a gallery you can filter by job and a page about the crew.

Who builds it

Built by someone who knows the trades

I’ve worked in general building for over eight years. I know what it’s like to be on site all day, then quote jobs, answer customers and keep the business going around the actual work, with most of it coming from recommendations.

I’m not a paver, so the details come from you. My job is to put your best drives, prices and reviews up front and make asking for a quote the easy next step. You deal with me throughout, not a sales team.

How it works

Three steps, live in as little as a week

You don’t need to become a web designer or a copywriter. A short call and some photos of your work, and I handle the writing, design and technical side.

  1. We talk it through

A short call about what you lay, the jobs you want more of (full drives and patios rather than repairs, say), your prices and the areas you cover.

  2. I build your website

I write the copy around those jobs, pick your best photos, progress shots included, and build the site around them. You don’t have to write a word.

  3. You approve it. I launch it.

You check it and ask for any changes. Once you’ve approved it, you pay and it goes live.

If you don’t approve it, you don’t pay.

Pricing

From £295, paid when you’re happy

    Choose Pro

Every package includes custom design, copy written for you, your own domain, 12 months’ hosting and local search setup. New site or redesign, you see it before you pay.

After the first year, hosting is £19 a month. It’s rolling, so you can cancel anytime.

What’s one extra job worth to you?

Move the sliders to your own numbers. This works out turnover, what customers pay you, not profit.

£800

Extra turnover

£9,600 a year

A Trade website is £495, paid once you’re happy with it. One or two jobs could cover it.

An illustration using your figures. It isn’t profit, and it isn’t a promise of extra work.

FAQ

Questions driveway contractors ask

Keep it coming. A recommendation gets your name passed on, and your site is what backs it up when someone checks you out before letting you dig up their front garden. It’s also the one place with no other paving firms suggested next to you. Why word of mouth and a website work together.

No. I build your site first, you look it over and ask for any changes. You only pay once you’re happy with it. If it’s still not right for you, you walk away owing nothing.

No. Phone photos are fine, as long as you take them when the drive is clean and the light is decent. A wide shot from the road and a close-up of the edge on every job, plus a before shot if you remember. Send me what you’ve got and I’ll prepare them for the site. How to take better photos of your work.

Yes. The example design has a tap-through diagram of the layers, from the dug-out ground to the blocks, with the depth of each. It’s the clearest way to explain why your drives cost more than the ones that sink.

Yes. I’ll build the site around your logo and colours. If you don’t have a logo, the site can use your business name in a clean, simple style.

I build it with local SEO foundations in place. The page title, headings and copy name the paving work you do and the towns you cover, so search engines can match you to searches like “block paving Mirfield” or “resin driveway Huddersfield”. That way Google knows what you do and where, and the page is quick to load on a phone. It gives you solid foundations, but no web designer can guarantee a particular position in Google. What else helps you show up locally.

Yes, if you want to. Guide prices put off people with the wrong budget and reassure the right ones. The example design leaves them off and lets the finished drives and the build-up do the talking, but it’s your call, and either way the fixed price comes after you’ve measured up.

Yes. Plenty of paving firms do both. Your site can lead with the work you want more of and still make it clear you do patios, paths and walls, so you pick up the back-garden jobs as well as the front.

No. We have a short call about your business and the work you want more of, you send me some photos, and I write and build the rest.

A one-page site is usually ready in about a week, a Trade site in about two weeks and a Pro site in two to three weeks. I’ll give you a date on our first call.

Yes. Send me photos of a new job, or the change you want, and I’ll update it for you. Content updates are £30 an hour, and most new-job updates are quick. New sections or design changes are quoted separately.

Yes, it’s yours once you’ve paid for it, with no lock-in. Hosting and support are included for the first 12 months. After that it’s £19 a month, rolling, so you can cancel anytime. If you do, I’ll send you the files and transfer your domain so you can host it wherever you like.
