Websites for roofers that homeowners trust.

Most people can’t see their own roof, so they judge you on what they find online. I’ll build you a site that shows your work, explains your guarantees and makes reporting a leak easy. You only pay when you’re happy with it.

Why a website?

People want to trust you before they let you on their roof.

Most roofing work still comes from recommendations and people who spot you on a neighbour’s roof, and that’s no bad thing. But a new roof is a big bill, and most homeowners can’t check the work themselves, so they look you up first.

Three reasons it’s worth having one

  1. Show the work they can’t see

Homeowners rarely get up on their own roof. Photos of finished roofs, close-ups of leadwork and before-and-after shots show them the standard you work to.

  2. Stand out from the cold callers

Homeowners are wary of roofers who knock on doors. A proper site with your details, insurance and guarantees shows you’re an established business.

  3. Lead with the roofs you want

Full reroofs, flat roofs and leadwork up front, so you’re not just the emergency repair number.

What I’d build for you

Everything a homeowner checks before they ring

Built around the roofing work you want more of, with your guarantees front and centre. The screenshots are from Pennine Roofing, an example design I’ve built for a roofer.

  1. They ask “Do you do the job I need?”

Service pages that bring in the roofs you want

“Roofer” covers everything from a slipped tile to a full reroof. Homeowners want to know quickly whether you take on their job, and whether you do pitched roofs, flat roofs or both.

    What you get

    • Your main services near the top, led by the roofing work you want more of
    • Plain descriptions of each one, including materials and the guarantee that comes with it
    • On Trade and Pro, a separate page for each main service, like reroofs, flat roofs or chimneys
    • Smaller repairs still listed, without crowding out the work you want

Jobs your site could lead with

    • Roof repairs
    • New roofs and reroofing
    • Flat roofing
    • Chimneys and leadwork
    • Guttering and fascias
    • Emergency repairs
The services section of the Pennine Roofing example design: roof repairs, new roofs and reroofing, flat roofing, chimneys and leadwork, guttering and fascias, and urgent repairs
Six roofing services, each explained in a line, from the Pennine Roofing example design
  2. They ask “Have you done a roof like mine?”

Galleries that win you the full reroofs

A roof is hard to judge from the ground. Before-and-after photos, close-ups of leadwork and a line about each job show homeowners exactly what you did and how long it took.

    What you get

    • Recent roofs grouped by type, with the problem, the work and the result
    • Close-ups of details like leadwork and ridges, next to the finished roof
    • Before-and-after photos where you have them
    • Your phone photos cropped, colour-corrected and compressed so they look sharp and load fast

  3. They ask “Can I trust you up on my roof?”

A reputation that beats the cold callers

Homeowners have heard the horror stories about roofers. Reviews, insurance, written quotes and proper guarantees are what set you apart.

    What you get

    • Genuine Google reviews, shown near your work
    • Your insurance, guarantees and memberships, like NFRC or TrustMark, where you hold them
    • How you work: photos of the problem, a written quote and agreed dates
    • Only real reviews and credentials, never made-up ones
The why us section of the Pennine Roofing example design: photographs of the problem, itemised written quotations, agreed dates, 15+ years and fully insured

  4. They ask “Do you cover my area?”

Found by homeowners searching in your area

People search for the job and the town, like “roofer Halifax” or “flat roof repair Leeds”. Your site has to say clearly what you do and where before Google can match you to those searches.

    What you get

    • The towns you cover, listed on the pages that matter
    • Page titles, headings and descriptions that name your roofing work and your area
    • Your business details set up so search engines can read them, linked to your Google Business Profile if you have one
    • On Pro, pages for the main towns you cover. Good foundations, but nobody can honestly promise a ranking
The areas section of the Pennine Roofing example design: local roofers covering Calderdale, with Halifax, Sowerby Bridge and Brighouse marked on a map
Towns covered, shown on a map, from the Pennine Roofing example design
  5. They ask “How quickly can you look at my leak?”

More call-outs, because reporting a problem is quick

When water’s coming through the ceiling, people want someone fast. The fewer steps between them and you, the fewer enquiries slip away.

    What you get

    • Tap-to-call and WhatsApp buttons, plus a bar that stays at the bottom of the screen on phones
    • A short enquiry form that comes straight to you, with spam protection built in
    • Fields that ask what’s wrong, how urgent it is and the postcode, so you can reply properly
    • Built and tested on phones first, and quick to load on a weak signal

A roofer website I’ve designed

An example design that shows how a roofer’s site would work, alongside feedback from a real client.

A design I built to show what a roofer’s site should do. It leads with repairs and reroofs, shows recent roofs with the problem and the fix, and the quote form asks what’s wrong and how urgent it is.

Who builds it

Built by someone who knows the trades

I’ve worked in general building for over eight years. I know what it’s like to be on site all day, then quote jobs, answer customers and keep the business going around the actual work, with most of it coming from recommendations.

I’m not a roofer, so the details come from you. My job is to put your best roofs, guarantees and reviews up front and make ringing you the easy next step. You deal with me throughout, not a sales team.

How it works

Three steps, live in as little as a week

You don’t need to become a web designer or a copywriter. A short call and some photos of your work, and I handle the writing, design and technical side.

  1. We talk it through

A short call about what you do, the work you want more of (reroofs rather than small repairs, say), the areas you cover and the guarantees you offer.

  2. I build your website

I write the copy around that work, pick your best roof photos and build the site around them. You don’t have to write a word.

  3. You approve it. I launch it.

You check it and ask for any changes. Once you’ve approved it, you pay and it goes live.

If you don’t approve it, you don’t pay.

What’s one extra job worth to you?

Move the sliders to your own numbers. This works out turnover, what customers pay you, not profit.

Extra turnover

£9,600 a year

A Trade website is £495, paid once you’re happy with it. One or two jobs could cover it.

FAQ

Questions roofers ask

Keep it coming. A recommendation gets your name passed on, and your site is what backs it up when someone checks you out before trusting you with their roof. It’s also the one place with no other roofers suggested next to you. Why word of mouth and a website work together.

No. I build your site first, you look it over and ask for any changes. You only pay once you’re happy with it. If it’s still not right for you, you walk away owing nothing.

No. Phone photos are fine, and before-and-after shots work especially well. A close-up of new leadwork or a neat ridge shows the standard of your work. Send me what you’ve got, and I’ll pick the best and prepare them for the site. I can also tell you which roofs are worth photographing, and you can send more to add later. How to take better photos of your work.

Yes. WhatsApp is one tap away on every page, so people can send a photo of the leak or damage, and you can tell a quick repair from a bigger job before you get the ladder out.

Yes. I’ll build the site around your logo and colours. If you don’t have a logo, the site can use your business name in a clean, simple style.

I build it with local SEO foundations in place. The page title, headings and copy name the roofing work you do and the towns you cover, so search engines can match you to searches like “roofer Halifax” or “flat roof repair Huddersfield”. That way Google knows what you do and where, and the page is quick to load on a phone. It gives you solid foundations, but no web designer can guarantee a particular position in Google. What else helps you show up locally.

Yes. Reroofs, flat roofs and leadwork each get their own page, so the bigger, better-paid work is front and centre instead of hidden behind a list of small repairs.

Yes. Your insurance, the guarantees you give on new roofs and any memberships, like NFRC or TrustMark, can sit near the top where people look. I only show credentials and logos you actually hold.

Yes. Plenty of roofers do both. Your site can lead with the work you want more of and still make it clear you take on repairs, so you don’t lose the jobs that keep the diary full.

No. We have a short call about your business and the work you want more of, you send me some photos, and I write and build the rest.

A one-page site is usually ready in about a week, a Trade site in about two weeks and a Pro site in two to three weeks. I’ll give you a date on our first call.

Yes. Send me photos of a new job, or the change you want, and I’ll update it for you. Content updates are £30 an hour, and most new-job updates are quick. New sections or design changes are quoted separately.

Yes, it’s yours once you’ve paid for it, with no lock-in. Hosting and support are included for the first 12 months. After that it’s £19 a month, rolling, so you can cancel anytime. If you do, I’ll send you the files and transfer your domain so you can host it wherever you like.
