Why a website?

People want to know you’ll turn up every fortnight and leave the garden tidy.

Most gardening work comes from neighbours, leaflets and local Facebook groups, and that’s no bad thing. But before anyone gives you their gate code and a regular slot, they look you up and check you’re reliable.

Three reasons it’s worth having one

  1. Turn one-off jobs into regular visits

A hedge cut or a tidy-up is one day’s work. A site that explains your weekly, fortnightly and monthly visits turns those jobs into customers who stay for years.

  2. Fill the gaps in your rounds

Listing the areas you cover, and even which day you’re there, brings in customers on the streets you already visit. Less time driving, more time working.

  3. Get paid for the skilled work

Pruning, lawn care and planting explained plainly shows you’re more than a mowing service, and helps you charge properly for it.

What I’d build for you

Everything someone checks before giving you a regular slot

Built around the work you want more of, with your gardens and reviews up front. The screenshots are from Mossgrove Garden Care, an example design I’ve built for a gardener.

  1. They ask “Do you do what my garden needs?”

Services that show you’re more than a mowing round

People search for the job: lawn mowing, hedge cutting, a garden tidy-up. They want to see straight away that you do it, and roughly what it costs.

    What you get

    • Your regular visits and one-off jobs listed with photos
    • “From” prices where you’re happy to give them, per visit or per job
    • What’s included each visit, like edging and taking the green waste away
    • On Trade and Pro, a page for your main services, like hedge cutting or lawn care

Jobs your site could lead with

    • Regular garden maintenance
    • Lawn mowing and edging
    • Hedge cutting
    • Borders and weeding
    • Lawn care and scarifying
    • One-off tidy-ups

  2. They ask “How much will it cost each month?”

A visit planner that answers the price question

The first thing people want to know is what regular visits will cost. Letting them pick their garden size and how often, and see a rough monthly price, gets them asking for a slot instead of wondering.

    What you get

    • A simple planner: garden size, how often and any extras
    • A rough price per visit and per month, clearly marked as a guide
    • Their choices go straight into the enquiry form
    • Set up around your own rate and the way you price

  3. They ask “Will you turn up every time?”

Reviews that answer the reliability question

A regular gardener is someone people trust with their side gate. Reviews that mention turning up, the same person every time and a tidy finish do more than anything you could write.

    What you get

    • Genuine Google reviews, shown near the top
    • Your insurance and waste carrier registration, where you hold them
    • How you work: no contract, the same gardener, a text when you’re done
    • Only real reviews and credentials, nothing made up

  4. They ask “Do you cover my area?”

    Found by people searching nearby

People search for the job and the town, like “gardener Horsforth” or “hedge cutting Rawdon”. Your site has to say clearly what you do and where before Google can match you to those searches.

    What you get

    • The towns you cover, listed on the pages that matter
    • Page titles, headings and descriptions that name your gardening services and your area
    • Your business details set up so search engines can read them, linked to your Google Business Profile if you have one
    • On Pro, pages for the main towns you cover. Good foundations, but nobody can honestly promise a ranking

The areas covered, and the day each one is visited, from the Mossgrove Garden Care example design
  5. They ask “Can you fit me in?”

Easy enquiries, with photos of the garden

Gardens are much easier to price with a photo. A short form and a WhatsApp button get you the size, the postcode and how often they’d like you, all in one go.

    What you get

    • Tap-to-call and WhatsApp buttons, plus a bar that stays at the bottom of the screen on phones
    • A short enquiry form that comes straight to you, with spam protection built in
    • Fields that ask the garden size, how often they’d like a visit and their postcode, so you can reply properly
    • Built and tested on phones first, and quick to load on a weak signal

Example design

A gardener website I’ve designed

An example design that shows how a gardener’s site would work, alongside feedback from a real client.

Mossgrove Garden Care

A design I built to show what a gardener’s site should do. It has a visit planner with rough monthly prices, a season-by-season guide to what each visit covers, and the day each area is visited.

Who builds it

Built by someone who knows the trades

I’ve worked in general building for over eight years. I know what it’s like to be on site all day, then quote jobs, answer customers and keep the business going around the actual work, with most of it coming from recommendations.

I’m not a gardener, so the details come from you. My job is to put your services, prices and reviews up front and make asking for a slot the easy next step. You deal with me throughout, not a sales team.

How it works

Three steps, live in as little as a week

You don’t need to become a web designer or a copywriter. A short call and some photos of your work, and I handle the writing, design and technical side.

  1. We talk it through

A short call about the gardens you look after, the work you want more of (regular visits rather than one-off clearances, say), your prices and the areas you cover.

  2. I build your website

I write the copy around that work, pick your best photos and build the site around them. You don’t have to write a word.

  3. You approve it. I launch it.

You check it and ask for any changes. Once you’ve approved it, you pay and it goes live.

If you don’t approve it, you don’t pay.

Pricing

From £295, paid when you’re happy

Three packages, depending on how much you want to show. One price, paid once you’ve seen your site and you’re happy with it.

  • Starter

    £295

    One-page website

Your services, prices, areas and contact details on one page. Suits gardeners who mostly work from recommendations

    Ready in about 1 week

    Choose Starter
  • Pro

    £795

    Up to 10 pages

More services, detailed project write-ups and pages for the towns you cover

Ready in 2 to 3 weeks

    Choose Pro

Every package includes custom design, copy written for you, your own domain, 12 months’ hosting and local search setup. New site or redesign, you see it before you pay.

After the first year, hosting is £19 a month. It’s rolling, so you can cancel anytime.

What’s one extra job worth to you?

Move the sliders to your own numbers. This works out turnover, what customers pay you, not profit.

£800

Extra turnover

£9,600 a year

A Trade website is £495, paid once you’re happy with it. One or two jobs could cover it.

An illustration using your figures. It isn’t profit, and it isn’t a promise of extra work.

FAQ

Questions gardeners ask

Keep it coming. A recommendation gets your name passed on, and your site is what backs it up when someone checks you out before giving you a regular slot. It’s also the one place with no other gardeners suggested next to you. Why word of mouth and a website work together.

No. I build your site first, you look it over and ask for any changes. You only pay once you’re happy with it. If it’s still not right for you, you walk away owing nothing.

No professional ones. Phone photos are fine, as long as the light is good. A freshly striped lawn, a sharp hedge line or a before-and-after of a tidy-up all make good pictures. Send me what you’ve got and I’ll prepare them for the site. How to take better photos of your work.

Usually, yes. A rough price per visit, or a planner that gives a monthly guide, puts people at ease and cuts down calls from people with the wrong budget. If you’d rather price every garden after a look, we can leave them off.

Yes. I’ll build the site around your logo and colours. If you don’t have a logo, the site can use your business name in a clean, simple style.

I build it with local SEO foundations in place. The page title, headings and copy name the gardening services you do and the towns you cover, so search engines can match you to searches like “gardener Horsforth” or “hedge cutting Rawdon”. That way Google knows what you do and where, and the page is quick to load on a phone. It gives you solid foundations, but no web designer can guarantee a particular position in Google. What else helps you show up locally.

Yes. It helps you choose the customers you want, fill gaps in the right areas and keep enquiries coming for the quieter months, like autumn tidy-ups and winter pruning.

Yes. The towns and villages you cover can be listed clearly, and if you work your rounds by day, the site can show that too, so new customers on your existing streets find you.

No. We have a short call about your business and the work you want more of, you send me some photos, and I write and build the rest.

A one-page site is usually ready in about a week, a Trade site in about two weeks and a Pro site in two to three weeks. I’ll give you a date on our first call.

Yes. Send me photos of a new job, or the change you want, and I’ll update it for you. Content updates are £30 an hour, and most new-job updates are quick. New sections or design changes are quoted separately.

Yes, it’s yours once you’ve paid for it, with no lock-in. Hosting and support are included for the first 12 months. After that it’s £19 a month, rolling, so you can cancel anytime. If you do, I’ll send you the files and transfer your domain so you can host it wherever you like.
